"Oh man, I am so tired." Alex said as they entered their apartment.

"Maybe going to a Christmas party after a 30 hour shift was a bad idea." [Y/N] replied with humor in her tone. She placed her jacket on the coat rack and walked toward the living room. 

[Y/N] and Alex had just come home from Meredith and Derek's Christmas party. They had a great time catching up with friends and relaxing after weeks of working long hours at the hospital.

"I could just sleep for days." Alex plopped himself on the couch, getting comfortable. He had one arm resting on the armrest and the other was hanging at the backside of the couch. [Y/N] sat herself next to Alex, snuggling into his side. Instinctively, Alex's arm goes to wrap around her shoulder and tucked her head beneath his chin.

[Y/N] released a soft yawn and Alex asked, 'You tired?"

"It's been a long week." She placed a kiss on his scruffy jaw. They sat there in comfortable silence. [Y/N] had her eyes closed and was listening to Alex's heartbeat. It was serene as his chest rose up and down after every breath.

"Oh!" [Y/N] sat up straight, "I still have your git to give you." She stood up and went to their room.

"I thought we already gave each other our gifts this morning?" A confused Alex exclaimed for her to hear.

"I have one more for you." She came back to the couch and presented Alex his last gift. It was a rectangular box with a bow on top. Alex shook the box near his ear, making her giggle.

"What is it?"

"Why don't you open and then you will know.'

Alex took his time unwrapping the wrapping paper and saw that it's a box. Suspiciously, Alex opened the box and set aside the tissue paper to reveal a white onesie that read 'Santa Baby.' He looked at [Y/N] with wide eyes and a shocked face.

"Surprise." She spoke softly with a big grin.

Alex cupped her cheek and gave her a hard kiss. She laughed within the kiss at his reaction. He pulled apart to ask if she is serious and she replied with a yes. Alex gave her another kiss before giving her a bear hug.

"How long?"

"Seven weeks."

"That would explain the exhaustion, the morning sickness and tiredness."

"I found out last week and wanted to give you the good news as a surprise during Christmas."

"This is the best gift you can ever give me. A child. Our child. A little Alex or little [Y/N]." Alex kissed her forehead.

Alex stood up and pulled her up to. Confused, [Y/N] watched Alex kneel down to the ground and placed his hands around her stomach. He placed his lips on her stomach and stayed there. She combed her fingers through his hair. When he stood up, Alex put his forehead against hers.

"Thank you for this beautiful gift."
