I wanna see an AU where Luz is evil, but in a manipulative way like Belos. Like she ACTUALLY manipulates people into being her friend just so she can take over the isles. A show where the main character is a lovable goofball who eventually turns into the villain, that sounds great.

Thoughts on Echoes of the Past and Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances
OH MY GOSH BABY KING IS THE MOST ADORABLE F@UCKING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN AND I WOULD KILL EVERYONE IN THIS ROOM AND THEN MYSELF (ahem)
So in "Echoes of the Past," we have some idea on how Eda met King, and it re-contextualizes everything about the dynamic with him and Eda. At first I took it as them being roommates, but to find out that Eda essentially adopted him when she was looking for a place to escape the Emperor's Coven and the boiling rain when she didn't know him long is touching. She really does have motherly instincts.
Alex Hirsch already proved himself as an amazing actor, but he shines in this episode. He perfectly nails the feelings of hopelessness and despair King was feeling when he learned that his life was more or less a lie. Makes you want to reach in through the screen and hug him until you tell him everything will be okay. But while he may not be the king of demons, there is still some prominence that he has: after all, his father had a fleshy guard in place to protect him despite not being there to see him hatch. The island itself is also mysterious as Lilith could attest to it not being present on the maps of the Boiling Isles which gave me two running theories: either Belos is responsible for it and it likely explains how he was seemingly able to take over the Isles without breaking a sweat, or it simply is because the island itself hid away from view. Eda did say that she discovered the island when she was trying to hide, so maybe the island itself only appears to those who had some desperation.
"Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances" is a perfect episode that basically says screw you to parents who scoff conventional methods for treating their children instead opting for treatments that are not approved by the medical community even though they do love their kids. Gwendolyn is a fun character who you can easily see is not meaning to harm her children but is flawed. Her trying to cure Eda of her curse is commendable, but it only harms Eda because all these "miracle cures" don't work, and worse, she neglected Lilith. It does not mean that she does not love her, but because she assumed that she was self-sufficient on her own, she absentmindedly pushed her aside to dote on her younger daughter. This, however, would lead to a building resentment that Lilith had for her. Heck, she didn't even attend her coronation ceremony.
We get to see the Owl Beast once again, but we also get to see Lilith's "Raven" form, and it is...terrifying. Not only is it larger than Eda's form, but she was not able to fight it off. Almost made me think we'd lose Lilith as we know her forever.
Gwendolyn learning she was conned was heartbreaking, but it is also epic how she takes her revenge on the goblins who were selling her these fake remedies and threatens to unleash all the beasts in Bonesborough on them. Never mess with a Clawthorne.
I hate that Lilith will be staying with her mother a while to catch up on lost time since I was starting to like her friendship with Hooty, but at the least she does offer to be pen pals with him. We then learn that the summer camp Luz was supposed to attend was long since over. But instead of being sorrowful that her daughter was missing, Camila is shown watching animal documentaries and is offered a tissue from....wait...that's not Luz. Oh. Oh no.
So I’ve been watching this video on repeat, and I came up with an AU idea. Amity’s parents force them to break up, but Amity never gets to tell Luz that she was forced.
Luz goes insane (corruption subplot?) and proceeds to (in this case) blow something up. You can have other chaos, possible murder, wherever your story goes.
If anyone ends up creating anything with this idea, please tag me, I would love to check it out!
In any case, the animatic is so good, and I would recommend you check it out!
