I have Jenova + Sephiroth angst all in my head, especially after seeing Nosferatu again (yeah) djjfdj.
What if (this is fucking evil lol) at the end of everything, Sephiroth won….and he saw Jenova in Lucrecia’s form again, standing in that field of flowers he once dreamed of, arms outspread….and he ran to her, longing for her embrace again….
But as he ran, everything began to shift and fade into darkness, the veil lifting so he could see what was really there instead of his beautiful mother.
A monstrous, horrifying being, renewed with the power he gave back to her. He finally sees the demon and she embraces him, yes. Drawing him in with dark tendrils, piercing his mind by force…violating and cold.
And she tears him apart while he’s too heartbroken and shocked to even fight back :)
Really puts things into perspective, considering how much Jenova looked like Lucrecia in the EC edition of Nibelheim.
What if Sephiroth really IS seeing Lucrecia's face there? What if he's been committing all these monstrous atrocities with the image of his REAL mother in mind instead of a horrific alien? He's been the one piloting, running the show. But it was always in the service of a more dangerous beast lying in wait. And in the end, he was nothing more than a pawn.
A puppet.
Lucrecia would have held her son like a lost, precious treasure.
Jenova only ever aimed to use him and then rip him to pieces.
