so. uhm. deltarune chapter 5 snowgrave, huh?
you never get to see that far into the lake normally. hell, even those floating leaves near the edge look like they got far too cleanly cut off when Noelle and Kris start walking further into it. this isn’t something You were meant to see.
but at the same time, it’s a really well put way of handling eldritch madness, i’ll give you that, Tricky Tony. Noelle didn’t simply just say “Reality’s fake, Kris, what’s the point of existence anyway?” or “This is all just a video game, Kris, I see you PLAYER”
she used what she knew
she figured out about the script she knew her world had and when she saw that it was possible to change her role, her fate, she tried to push the boundaries of her world like the glitch hunter she was
she tried to escape.
she knew that it wasn’t supposed to be an option, to reach the other side of the lake; but she still thought that with Your help, if Kris could ‘escape’ the script of their life, if Kris could stop being Kris with Your influence..
..then so could she.
she could stop being Noelle and the both of them could go and escape town and their lives and their roles and that freedom was on the other side of that lake.
and ouughhhh do i feel sick. you can’t even say that you didn’t want this to happen; you did. you wanted to see something new, something different, and you sure as hell got your wish.
