Kakashi x Rin is okay, Rin stringing both Kakashi and Obito along is funny, Rin being a lesbian is hilarious, but... Rin being aroace is even better. She settles down with no one.
She defends Obito because he's a good kid and she thinks Kakashi's an adorable dangerous baby! Rin sees Obito and Kakashi as her best friends in the whole world and is unaware Obito had a crush on her and Kakashi thought SHE had a crush on him.
Some people like Minato being cold, self-centered, and a fanatic nationalist (me included!). Rin could get that treatment too...
Naruto has this unreliable narrator thing going on, right... What if Rin, who's shown as a saintess (which is fair because she was a kid) if she survived, ended up in T&I instead? Sure, she was promising with iryō jutsu, but what if she used that for torture??
Rin's aroace but that only means she doesn't know romantic love. She loves her parents, loves Obito and Kakashi like family, loves Konoha, and then uses healing to torture prisioners. She could even be very empathetic, but just choosing that job because she's very good at it? Or maybe Rin couldn't surpass Tsunade, couldn't pick up the seal just like Shizune, so instead climbs up the ladders of T&I, and has a rivalry with Ibiki! That'd be interesting too. Rin wants to be the best in her area. If she isn't, it's not worth it.
