What good had carrying the Joestar name and lineage ever done him and his family? His grandfather and father died carrying that lineage. Now he was the latest to have that name. The latest to get that legacy.
He didnât want it. Joestars were heroes. They ended up saving people, hunting things. Always sacrificing and fighting for what was right. If he did that, heâd just die young and never get to live.
Joseph didnât want to be a hero. He didnât want to do what was right. He just wanted to live in comfort and luxury. If that meant becoming a vampire, heâd do it. He found the stone mask and stuck it on his face. It needed blood as an activation, so he cut his arm deep enough to bleed. Smeared that blood over the mask when he brought his arm up to it. And he collapsed to the ground, eyes closed as he started feeling agony wrack his body. Â
But it would be fine. It would be worth it. After all, he was going to live forever.
đ (evil grandson???)
Okay, maybe there waaas a tiny little fleshbud influencing his thoughts. In his defense, he hadnât thought Dio would do that to him. Wait, he really needed to think of the man as Lord Dio, that was what the tiny little fleshbud said to him. Joseph felt a bit like he was watching himself from the outside looking in.
He touched the place where the fleshbud bored into his brain, the place he knew was there. Fuck, he knew he was supposed to do whatever Lord Dio--ugh, why did he have to think of that shitty knife-obsessed vampire as his lord, he hated the guy who killed his grandpa--wanted, but some part of him didnât want to.
Some part of him wanted to resist.
And that wouldnât end well for either of them. No, it was best to just slip into whatever Lord Dio wanted. Be whatever Lord Dio wanted. He was a Joestar, yeah, but his place wasnât to fight the vampire. It was to do whatever Dio wanted, whenever Dio wanted, even if that involved being a target for knives. Lots and lots of knives. God, he hated knives.
