Okay butβ¦.what if sentient!honmoon was evil and viewed its hunters less as protectors and more asβ¦.servants that existed only to ensure that it was protected?
Is this how demon kings came to be? Because I can see an evil!sentient!honmoon that views its hunters as servants eventually asking/forcing them to harvest more and more spiritual energy so it can grow instead of just maintain.

I really like the idea that there isn't really a good entity between the demon king and the honmoon. They both want power but they just collect it in different ways. It's not really a "this guy is good" and "this guy is bad" situation but more of a "lesser of two evils" situation. The hunters are just as much workers for the honmoon as the demons are for Gwi Ma.
In a funnier sense, I can see the hunters and demons just sitting down and taking a break to complain about their bosses together.
