S1 Marceline is so funny, like she sees these two guys who have a real sweet and wholesome friendship and she wants to hang out with them because has deprived herself from any sort of meaningful relationships for so long but also she’s so afraid of rejection and showing vulnerability and being emotionally honest that her strategy is to play up her super-cool unreachable but also evil monster side and then torment them in silly and convoluted ways that start out as her kinda lashing out at them for being friends when she’s friendless but then becomes a weird roundabout admission that she’s not as bad as she seems and just sort of hopes that they figure out on their own that they can hang out together sometimes. And somehow that plan works PERFECTLY.. 

Finn: This is weak! I don't even like any of these places. I wanna go home.
