Ok i wrote up a whole thing and then tumblr deleted it so let me try again

Technically my Main Main brushes are very basic, square pixely brush with no anti aliasing is my favorite to use for versatility, works for literally anything. And then circle painting brush and airbrush type stuff, i always have versions with and without color jitter bc color jitter is Very helpful for painting but these brushes are versatile enough that i like to use them for simpler stuff too. [and i also find it annoying to go in and turn color jitter off and on for these when i use them so much lol]

Then for texture i honestly mostly use the newer procreate default brushes, i used to download a lot of free brushes just because i could, which isint necessarily horrible but ive found it a lot more helpful recently to use the defaults and then figure out what i cant do with those. and then search for new brushes.

as for specific packs :

I was wanting to get an impasto effect and found this brush set to do it, i only have the free version right now and it works amazingly [i should probably get the paid version at some point though, it’s almost definitely worth imo] The only thing with these is it takes a bit longer to pick colors just due to how these brushes work with the shadows/ highlights, isInt a dealbreaker but it’s basically the main downside of these for me. I notably used these for this art :

and then recently i found this pack:

haven’t used this one as much yet but big fan of the texture it gives + it has a lot of variety and it’s free! and definitely something i can’t rlly find in the procreate defaults. used this one here on the hair

not a specific brush pack but one of the other things i find helpful from brush packs is very Weird patterns and textures, those are the things i find most helpful from non-default brush packs
