#everyverse

PONY TIME YAY!

I've been craving some lore and character development for my pony OCs...and after overhauling one of my MLP verses, Everyverse, (https://toyhou.se/pinleaf/characters/folder:3355781) I really wanted to give ponies some attention! I'd like to draw simple, quick little pics to show just a small window into their lives, once per day. Let's see if I can keep up!

First up is one of the big figures in Everyverse, President Pearlescent Dawn! She's not really a mane cast member, but is a key part of this world. (To note, none of this verse follows show canon nor do most of the show characters exist in this verse--keyword most.) She serves as the elected leader of Equestria and honestly is STRUGGLING right now. Politics, of course, are always a major showdown, but they're battles she is well-equipped to handle. Not...this.

For the past year, she's been having vivid nightmares about running from a purple pegasus that is PISSED at her. She begs, pleads, apologizes but the pegasus isn't satisfied, not until they drown Pearl in darkness. She wakes multiples times a night in a cold sweat, her horn ablaze with magic and ready to strike. In fact, her magic has been fluctuating and growing stronger every day. Her cutie mark--fancy style, meaning more magic--will glow sometimes, too, bright as the sun. Honestly, what is happening to her?

And who is that purple pegasus?!

Everyverse continued! We were in the southern deserts last post, and now we head north....far, FAR north.

Meet Winter Apple, a half-pony/half-mule native of a tiny frozen town named Snowshoe Junction! It rests at the feet of Yaket Range and around the curve of Luna Bay and is quite literally covered in snow 24/7, 365. While not known for much, it has a well-renowned yearly Ice Fest of skating, skiing, and wintery delights! Winter often works as a volunteer for the festival as well as a vendor. She's a talented baker and woodcarver and sells what she can for the folks that visit for the cold.

Another funny thing about Winter--her fur is glittery. Like, it actually sparkles at the right angle. It's a funny trait of her family and of the town in general, likely from generations of inter-mixing. Her family have the most pronounced version of it and some suspect a Crystal pony wandered in at some point, had a kid, and added a bit of shine to the town...who's to say, though!

More Everyverse art!! This is Honeydew Orchard, a very old OC of mine who has a long and storied history...

Not everything was easy for Honeydew. She grew up poor and fled to Applewood to seek fame and fortune. She found success, but her iron cage became a gold one, and she struggled behind a mask over her true self fueled by her lack of a cutie mark. Years and years of coping mechanism after coping mechanism, cutie pox after cutie pox, she somehow found light at the end of the tunnel. That turned out to be plant genetics, somehow? She always was rather masterful in the sciences, much to the ire of producers who preferred a dumb, pretty mare.

Still, when the days get long, she finds that hope is a butterfly, fleeting but there when you need it...

Missed a few days bc of work BUT MORE EVERYVERSE!

This time, I am tackling something a little bit different in MLP...religion!! To be frank, I don't have a clear image of how this will be handled right now LOL. However, I am leaning towards a Hellenism-like approach of nature/conceptual deities. What I DO know is how one oasis in the middle of the San Palomino Desert handles religion...

Meet Tropical Oasis, one of the most well-known figures in the small town. They own and operate the local watering hole, The Mirage Inn, and are excellent if you need someone to listen. They are not much of a talker and keep much of their life rather private--they don't talk about family, friends, their home, or anything, really. They just listen, laugh, offer some encouraging words and move on to the next guest.

In the Oasis, as the town is called, there is an underground water reservoir that is home to rare salamanders and axolotls. These two animals are worshiped as gods--Axolotl for youth, creativity, water, and healing; Salamander for wisdom, stability, fire, and regrowth. Oasis (the pony) can be seen offering prayers to a axolotl statue in the town. For what? No one knows...but, perhaps you should talk to the local holy leader. They seem to know something about this quiet unicorn...
