I'm feeling very nostalgic about my Alola game and felt the need to share the story I crafted for my teams :D Basically each team has a leader ("chiefs" with king/queen titles) that operates a sort of "kingdom," and the other members are those very close to the leader with inspiration from Hawai'i history and culture! Humans don't exist in this AU.
First up we have King Louie and Queen Ali'ikai. They rule over a barrier reef region off and on Akala Island, really that south-east beach on the map. They have a very peaceful life and thriving community, and are quite content and kind pokemon themselves. Louie is a bit older and quiet, often taking naps when no one is looking or walking around town to see if anyone is having trouble that he can help with. He wears a woven indigo cloak with feathers of an Oricorio, a sign of his leadership role. Ali'ikai will often accompany him on these walks, as she delights in learning about her people and the work they do. Sometimes she ditches him to learn weaving, dance with the ladies, teach the children, or mend fishing nets. Though they are leaders, they are very active in the community and have fostered care and trust with their people.
