So I wanted to ask your opinion on something: Why do you think Emma's relationship with Killian worked out better in the end than her other relationships with other people?
In my opinion, it has a lot to do with their personalities!Â
First of all, Killian is a super flirty pirate who can practically woo any girl he wants (and he knows it). But then along comes Emma- a fiercely independent and protective woman- who seems immune to Killian’s charm.Â
I think this was the first step in Killian’s intrigue in Emma because wanted to figure her out. When he began seeing himself in her, he knew that this was a woman/relationship worth fighting & waiting for. Emma eventually sees herself in Killian too, although it takes her longer to accept it.Â
They are very alike in nature, hence “kindred spirits.” Both: have been hurt by love in the past, believe that family always comes first, have walls to protect themselves, etc. The main difference is that Emma emotionally clams up, whereas Killian uses his sexuality. But they compliment each other very well and were always end game because Killian has no problem in showing Emma how far he’s willing to go for her- that she can trust him. His maturity & patience plays a large role in why he succeeded in his relationship with Emma.Â
