If there was one thing that was common for people in the military, it was significant others cheating on them in their absence. Bryson wasn't the sort of person to blame them for doing so. It was a hard life, and relationships with people in the military meant having to see those people leave for extended stretches of time without any say in the matter. It was only human for someone to get lonely while the person they loved was away for such a long time. It was only human for them to seek comfort and solace from other people when the one they would normally turn to wasn't there to offer it. To Bryson, it always made sense, the why and how it all happened. Did he think it would happen to him? No. Perhaps he had too high of an opinion of himself, but he always thought he'd be the one person who would be able to say that he didn't know what it felt like to have a person cheat on them while they were deployed, or on a mission.
Seeing this man, who was introduced to him as Adam, made him very suspicious. Alice acted as though she were happy to see him, albeit surprised, but she greeted him in a fairly typical manner. That didn't mean that there wasn't anything going on. People could cheat with the full knowledge of what was happening and still play it off when they were confronted. It was impossible for him not to be suspicious of the two, but he tried to push that aside as he placed a kiss on her cheek before greeting the man. "Yeah, nice to meet you," Bryson replied, managing to keep a light and civil tone. "Was I interrupting plans? I can always come back later, if that's the case. I wasn't trying to mess anything up." He'd merely been excited to see her after being gone for so long. His eyes moved to Alice, "I won't be going anywhere any time soon, at least not today, so if you had plans..." His voice trailed off, but there was that implication in them that he was seeing if she would choose plans with another man over him.
