Everybody knows that everybody knows about Anakin and Padme… but have you considered something else? What if we only see them because we

Know them

Already know about them, and are therefore just looking for evidence

Are not politicians who are used to a million and one affairs in a corrupt Senate

Are not emotionally inept space monks

In other words, Anakin and Padme are just subtle enough to work… for those who don’t know them.

Obi-Wan

Okay, we know that he knows. “Anakin is the father, isn’t he?” and less-Cannon lines, like in STOVER’S HELLBOOK, also known as the rotter (RotS) novelization, where Obi-Wan’s words can be summed up to “Padme, you and Anakin aren’t subtle and me and Anakin have an unspoken agreement not to mention the fact that I know that he knows that I know about the two of you.”

Except… Anakin doesn’t.

Not anymore.

You see…

Now, look at that first one again.

Obi-Wan lies to him. Hurt him. Obi-Wan chose the Council over him, and Anakin… is betrayed.

He mourned for days, silent and probably caught between crippling grief and overwhelming anger… and Obi-Wan chose the Council over him.

(So why would Obi-Wan keep such a big secret as a long-term relationship?)

That’s why he can’t go to Obi-Wan in the rotter (RotS).

Ahsoka

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ahsoka figure it out during the kriffing movie, the way Anakin and Padme flirted, but, again, emotionally inept space monks. She probably figure it out during either the Malevolence Arc or the Blue Shadow Virus arc.

And, of course, Padme took her on adventures, too.

But then…

“I know,” Ahsoka says and Anakin looks up in surprise. It’s the first time that anyone openly says it.

Palpatine

I don’t even want to touch this one, so I’m just going to quote myself

Issue number two, Sidious could use the Leach Bond to look inside Anakin’s mind, to find out about Padme, and… to implant dreams? Perhaps. to view them and to use them, at the very least.
