-- Everwood Task #1: Meet Rosie

Rose, a.k.a. Rosie, is a seven-year-old tortoiseshell cat. Technically this bb is the cat of Andrew’s aunt Susan, but since he’s currently house-sitting while his aunt is in the hospital, he’s also stuck with her. She’s a former stray and was adopted from the shelter by Andrew’s aunt about a year after Andrew left for college.

Rosie is a very shy and cautious little thing due to living on the streets for the first year of her life. She’s a bit scrawny and tinier than your average cat. Once she gets used to a person, she is very cuddly and can occasionally turn into a clingy cuddle monster, vying for your attention at the most inopportune moments. Unfortunately, Andrew isn’t anywhere near that level of trust yet.

Andrew thinks that the cat just really can’t stand him, but that’s actually not the case. It’s more of a misunderstanding due to Rosie’s caution and Andrew’s cluelessness when it comes to cats. Andrew’s very careful around Rosie, in fact too careful in a way that has Rosie interpret his hesitation as someone trying to sneak up to her, hence sending her to one of her hiding places. Miscommunication at its worst.

Andrew and Rosie will eventually learn to live with each other, initial suspicion turning into tentative camaraderie, which will blossom into a beautiful friendship. Stay tuned for Andrew’s heartwarming story arc of realizing that he’s totally a cat person~

what’s a girl without her big, mean, ferocious dog? this is oliver, lorelei’s blue american pitbull terrier, and he’s one hell of a dog. he’s so mean, he’ll cuddle you at night and push you off the bed if you refuse to hold him. he’s so attack-prone, he’ll jump on you the second you get home and kill you with kisses.

oliver is lorelei’s pride and joy--- at 29 with no kids of her own, oliver was her baby. she’s had him since he was a pup, found him on the streets starving with no home and no one to love. she took him in, and ever since, these two have been inseparable. 

Meet: Pinky and Pluto Davies.

Pinky the Ferret and Pluto the Hedgehog are not exactly the pets people expected Noah to adopt. But Noah have always been different, our little alien boy. Finding Pinky in the woods hurt, he took that little baby boy under his wing and took care of it. Having an instant connection with the ferret, he kept it and the name is just perfect due to it’s pink nose. He loves him with all his heart and is very overprotective.

as some may well know, connor and his daughter are avid animal lovers. as a vegetarian and animal activist, it seems only natural for him to have a mini petting zoo in his own home. let’s be honest, he can spare the room!! 

abigails pets

totoro & mimi were a gift for abigails 5th birthday. she’d been obsessed with chinchillas ever since she had seen them at a pet show and felt just how soft their fur was. they sleep throughout most of the day and are incredibly tame. totoro is the cuddler, where as mimi often prefers to stay behind in her cage - connor informs his daughter frequently that her pets should come to her and she should never force them to play with her. when mimi does come out, she is often more interested in connor and likes to rest on his shoulder while he walks around their home.

mocha is abigails bunny. she is a dwarf rabbit and was one of the first pets he ever got her. since then he has built the bun her very own little bunny mansion that resides at the top of their garden. abigail visits her rabbit often throughout the day and lets her out into the large rabbit run that was made for her.

chewie never leaves abigails side. he is her incredibly greedy guinea pig that likes to spend most of his time sleeping in the 5 year olds arms and eating whatever he can get his tiny hands on. connor has to keep a close eye on chewie and abigail because it is often hard to separate the two.

stiles, named after abigails favourite tv show character that she swears is the double of her teacher. connor laughs this off and pretends not to notice the resemblance. stiles is the newest addition to the family and he is a leopard gecko. abigail likes to sit around and make sound effects when stiles is running, often you can hear her going ‘nyooooooom’ from another room in the house.

gwen was given to connor when he was just 4 years old after he asked very politely for a tortoise as his mother was concerned about a cat or a dog destroying her home (the idea of a tortoise was planted in his mind after a talk with one of the house maids). she has been his best friend and confidant for as long as he can remember. when she was given to him, she was already 7 years old and even though she had a family before him, there was an instant connection. connor was able to communicate his thoughts to her without having to worry about judgement, she has always been a safe place for him to turn when he’s feeling lonely or trapped in his own mind.
