It’s interesting how much you can stumble across during a random hike. This was our last one 30km around Sevenoaks. Never actually stood in the middle of the lavender field so it was a nice surprise 😊 ::: Another 30km walk with a backpack today. This time 13kg. This weekend was my first mini (but cruel) duration walk. I say “mini” because at first I was slightly disappointed we chose such short route. My aim was to walk the whole day and whole night to the point of exhaustion. At the end of the day that’s what I’ll face on Everest next year (though tougher) so it would be a good practise. However, thanks to the more rational friend who come along we decided to have a test walk first and make it shorter. The route we chose was only 50km. And thank god is was! I totally underestimate it! ::: It took us just under 12 hours. It wasn’t too bad physically even with a 9kg backpack but the blisters were a real issue. We both got them and struggled to walk towards the end. Even walking on cobbles or uneven surface became such a pain.
