"i don't particularly care for the accommodation, but i do suppose that there's that old saying about beggars and choosers." her tone is light despite the circumstances, perhaps because she's simply grateful that she hasn't been separated from her son, who is currently wandering up to anyone who will give him a moment of time, asking if they'd like to see a card trick. bit of a brilliant move on his part, she thinks, trying to distract people with a moment of levity. her stomach clenches a little when he approaches the goth couple in the corner who look as if they're preparing for an assassination attempt, but the woman of the pair smiles just enough that she forces herself to relax.
"i will say, heels in the snow? not a good combo. but i think it's just a bit of a sprain. couple of days and it'll be right as rain again. things did move a bit too quickly for me to worry about something like sensible shoes."
