🌿 how does creating make you feel?

🪄 what is your post-writing/sharing aftercare? How do you take care of yourself or celebrate yourself when you've finished a fic?

Thank you for the ask!!!! 🌿 how does creating make you feel? Creating causes a huge range of emotions. It can be scary, it can be fun, It's satisfying, somtimes and the words fly and at other times, I struggle. I tent to be critical and do rewrites a lot until I can be a bit more happy with my work. And, of course, there are the times you convince yourself your writing is awful. and times when you are convinced its good. Times ehen you feel like you are getting better and when you feel like you are getting worse. Overall its really helped me with my self esteem and ability to be happy with who I am. There is so much I cannot do. I'm kinda fragile and very disabled. BUT I can write. I was born to write I think. 🪄 what is your post-writing/sharing aftercare? How do you take care of yourself or celebrate yourself when you've finished a fic? I think I've been pretty lucky; people tend to like my work, so seeing that is nice. (And tends to make me make high pitched happy sounds while I swing my feet and grin) Otherwise I don't really Have anything special? When I finish writing a fic, if it's a short one, I just go back to my current long fic. If it's a long one, I decide what to do next. My current long fic is a thing because I showed @tiny-and-witchy this little snippet I wrote one day randomly, and she encouraged me to continue it. and I was like, you know what I will. And now it's likley gonna end up as a series. I'm more of a focus on how I'm doing day to day person

I have a world goal on days besides the two designated weekly off days of 500, 1000, or 1500 words. 500 is usually for if I'm not doing the best but can still write. 1000 or 1500 are most days.

My reward for myself is that if I somehow reach 2000 I get to reblog one of these ask the fic writer memes. Because I find them really fun!

Somtimes if I'm really into a game I reward myself by having a few hours after I write a first 500 words then write the second 500. When I'm done with my writing for the day I get to do whatever I feel like!

It never actually occurred to me that I should reward myself or do aftercare after posting a fic?

I mean besides seeing people enjoy it? OH OH, I do sometimes commission art!!!! And I'm gonna be doing my first nonbigbang collab with an artist!!! (I am totally gonna see if I can do more of those. THEY FUN!)
