THERE HAD BEEN A TIME WHEN troye hadnât completely loathed coming to visit his father. there had never been a time where he had been looking forward to it either; his father was a rather unpleasant man, all fake smiles and stiff bows â and troye knew better. however, even he couldnât hide how much the old man had helped him in life: he had grown up with a silver spoon in his mouth, the w o r l d at his feet, the entire universe gifted to him if he wanted it. what was a broken marriage and a bad relationship compared to that ?
still, hoseok had come as a shock. troye had been far from prepared for the male that shared his age and his fatherâs bed, and he hadnât been prepared for the cold front his father had put up ever since â troye was non-existent, and though that was for the better anyway the son couldnât help but feel bitter. his life had always been LOVELESS and most likely it would end that way, but he had wished for something more than this. and he definitely hadnât wished for hoseok.
so, understandably, his expectations had been low to non-existent when his birthday rolled around. he knew his mother was too busy drinking and getting lost in strangersâ beds to even remember, but surprisingly enough troyeâs dad had taken the time to invite him over for dinner. though he initially hadnât thought about going, considering who he knew was going to be there, the invitation seemed too formal to decline. after all, he needed the money his dad was providing him. it came as no shock though, that when he arrived it was to an empty house, his fatherâs convertible nowhere to be seen outside, and he knew immediately that he had forgotten â just like the year before. troye didnât even have it in him to be disappointed, or even slightly angry, though the latter seemed more possible when hoseok came into troyeâs view dressed in something his own paycheck surely couldnât afford. «motherfucker forgot, didnât he ?»Â
