we’re in love - j rabbit

the weather’s nice;

the sun’s out and it’s warm, maybe, a little windy but it’s actually making everything more comfortable when it comes to this humid air. baekhyun closes his eyes briefly, just listens to the rustle of the leaves coming from the nearby trees and the sound of people chatting with each other all around him, he pays attention to the noise their cups make when they place them back down on the table.

it’s a beautiful assortment of noise and for some reason, he wishes he could share it with someone – like, all of it. this atmosphere, this exact moment. he wishes someone would appreciate it with him and then, there’s this longing for someone. for someone special.

baekhyun tries not to put too much thought into it but it’s not that easy.

he sees dark, soft eyes in his mind and black hair that looks so silky that he wishes he could touch it, he can’t stop thinking about that charming, lovable dimpled smile thrown his way and chapped lips he’d like to get to know better. he imagines a pair of hands in his own that he isn’t supposed to hold and it makes his heart beat a little faster, makes it flutter with excitement.

this is bad, no good at all. baekhyun thinks he’s—

“hey. is this seat taken?”

baekhyun opens his eyes all of a sudden to see a girl standing right in front of his table, one hand placed on her hip. her long, ashy hair sways in the soft breeze and she looks very pretty but his mind is still somewhere else.

“i think i’m in love,” he says while still staring at her and she only gives him a funny look, raining her eyebrows at him without saying anything. but that’s okay because baekhyun gets flustered immediately, not just because of his own realization but also because he said it out loud in front of a stranger – this can be taken the wrong way.
