Exactly!! I think people get too caught up sometimes in the fiction.. it’s NOT real people! If people would recognize that simple fact I think many of the poles that reside in everyone’s asses would slide out

lol I think you’re right. On the one hand I have to admire people’s passion, but on the other I think it’s easy to get swept up a little to hard in fiction if one doesn’t pull oneself back and remember what you’ve said, that’s it’s a story and it’s entertainment before anything else, that approaching fictional characters directly as one would a real person can be a frustrating experience

Basically ALL oF Eugene’s story arc in season 7 and 8 does not exist in the comics.. technically, when Eugene was taken by the saviors and offered to join by Negan he basically said fuck off.. a lot of what happened to Daryl when he was prisoner was supposed to be Eugene so all that’s happening with him right now is entirely made by the show

I vaguely remember consulting with him as I often do with my writing bc he usually has really great plot ideas. I vaguely remember asking him ‘how should Eugene fuck Negan over in this story’ and he was like ‘well, what if he compromised the ammunition or the guns?’. I was wondering bc that’s totally not something I would’ve pulled out of my ass, I know fuck all about guns and ammo, so when I told him and he was like ‘oh yeah I suggested that to you’ I was just like JAW DROP.
