Flocking 11/8/2024 -- Eudimorphodon, Meganeura, Gigarcanum, Ursus spelaeus
#Paleostream 9/11/2024
here's today's #Paleostream flocking drawings (i was not happy with any of the sketches so i worked on them for a few more hours :P)
today we drew Eudimorphodon, Meganeura, Gigarcanum delcourti, and Ursus spelaeus
also bonus 30 minute Bothriolepis sketch i did before flocking today:
A portrait of Austriadactylus cristatus, an early pterosaur from the Late Triassic of Austria. It was described in 2002 from a crushed partial skeleton with skull. The specimen was discovered in an abandoned mine. Austriadactylus was a relatively small pterosaur, with an estimated wingspan of 120 cm. The elongated, 11-centimeter skull bore a thin bony crest, enlarged at the tip of the snout. The teeth varied in size and shape, typical of early pterosaurs: large, sharp teeth helped grasp prey, while small, tricuspid teeth crushed it. Microwear analysis of the teeth revealed that Austriadactylus fed on hard-shelled invertebrates.
In this portrait, I experimented with a more quick style. In particular, I made the pycnofiber cover without focusing on detailing each individual "hair."

A male eudimorphodon ventures down to the forest to hunt for suitable nesting material.
Flocking Together #62
Eudimorphodon/Meganeura
Gigarcanum/Ursus spelaeus
Fun fact: when first discovered austriadraco was tought to be a species of eudimorphodon before being later classified as it's own genus (there should be a pterosaur emoji)
-Stop following me, your pasta-eating creature!
-But Mr. Austriadraco...
-Hey, Italyphordon!
Italy, you're so cute! Is that your dad?
-Spainvenator, you know I'm not his dad!
-ve~
I mixed the tail shapes on accident but it's okay (also idk how to color dinosaurs)
