Tag Game: Last Line

The games were similar enough to combine, and I have gotten some writing inĀ so I am finally able to fill it out. This will be taken from my wip Puppet Kingdom. :)

I canāt say Iām not glad to be rid of the two nymphs when we arrive at the Library. Naidaās words left me with sweaty hands and shaky thoughts. It was oh so nice to be reminded that everyone was out to get you.
Her earlier advice had my mind turning as well. About getting support from fellow nobles- well, the noble fellows of Anvelen.

10 Signs That Youāre in a Homestead Novel
The lovely and talented @etjwrites recently tagged me to share ten staples of my writing! Thank you for including me in this game, my friend, and I hope these answers satisfy many a curious mind:

1. The end is nigh. Whatever the circumstances, the world my characters finds themselves in is on the brink of annihilation. The consistent corruption of humans over time has finally reached its inevitable climax and now all those living must decide how to salvage what is left, stop the apocalypse, and/or reinvent the universe entirely.
2. God is the new Gone Girl. What happened to the god(s)? No one knows, and neither do you. Whether they be sealed away, dead, lost to time, absent, or otherwise seemingly inactive, the influence of divine followers is felt - and a return of the god oft expected - but their presence lacking.
3. Under the sea is the place to be. Well, okay, maybe not sea - but you better expect to find a whole world beneath the surface! Whether it be an underground city, a cave system of ancient artifacts, the resting place of imprisoned spirits, etc. The dichotomy between the surface and underground always plays a pivotal in my stores.Ā
4. You get an alignment change, you get an alignment change, everyone gets an alignment chaaaange! Like Oprah, I like to give away free opportunities for my cast to change their minds more often than not. Most protagonists begin on the Neutral spectrum - wanting what they want, regardless of morality - and experience a significant shift towards either end of the spectrum.Ā
5. (Pokemon Trainer voice) Look, ma - a shiny! While I couldnāt tell you why, crystals smuggle themselves into every one of my stories. Often, they are the conduits of some spiritual and/or magical force. They may have different names in each universe, but donāt be fooled - itās just rebranded.
6. Like the Greatest Showman, take me to the other side. If you donāt interact with and/or travel directly into a different plane of existence, it aināt a Homestead story.
7. Iād like to order a novel, but can you substitute the plot for prose? Letās face it: Iām a wordsmith first, a worldbuilder second, and a storyteller somewhere towards the end of the list. I hear words like I hear music, and thus, must string them together into a pleasant composition. If itās too fancy for you? Consider it a literary dessert - good in small doses, too heavy for binging.
8. Secrets, secrets are so fun. Everyone has a secret. Some have many, too many - and are willing to do anything to keep them hidden. But rest assured, there will at least be one spymaster or information broker ready to turn your secrets into currency.
9. Mercy me, keep the faith! Mercy and faith are two themes I prioritize tackling in my stories, and from every angle imaginable. Even as a Christian, I do not shy away from asking difficult questions about grace, spirituality, tragedy, etc. and oft include characters who are willing to wrestle with their religion and/or morality.
10. Hope is always worth fighting for - even if it kills you. Not every characterās story ends in victory. Many die. Others fail. Some surrender. But there will always be an underlying sense that the battle is worth the sacrifice, even if it does not achieve triumph, solely because hope still lives.

Iām gonna do this for my murder wip. Itās very dark and a lot of things happen at night around the city, so I associate black with it. I also associate lights with it, specifically club lights and lighting that has to do with the night scene. Also red, of course, becauseā¦ murder.
Hey!! Happy STS! When worldbuilding, do you make some kind of map to help you envision your world?
Yes and no. I play inĀ āOur World But Slantā so geographically its mostly the same. But Iām terrible with spacial orientation, so wifey usually draws house layouts so I donāt get lost (cause sheās awesome like that)
If you're still doing the ask game: My WIP is called "Thorunn" and is ya sci-fi. š
Sorry for taking ages! Distraction, aahh! Anyway, this one really stumped me because at first glance, Thorunn makes me think High Fantasy like Lord of the Rings, or historical like Vikings or Gods, so YA Sci-fi, Iām at a loss for guesses, but I will try even though I will be way way off:
Thorunn is a futuristic city or cult that works beyond the normal boundaries of space time, built around the concepts of Norse Myth, architecture and beliefs. Those native to Thorunn are āblessedā with Godlike powers, glamour, strength, healing, shifting, a less scientific way of saying they were bio-mechanically engineered to mirror those beings they were inspired by... but Thorunnās motives for creating such things might be darker than everyone thought...
