looking at them side by side and yeah she really does take more after her father. It's the hair color I think
I've been playing dressup with Ethuilas a lot today. I'm actually so much more obsessed with her than I thought I would be

oh. huh. Ethuilas' name isn't taken on Peregrin.....
@lotro-week Day 5: Origins | Scenery | Housing
Well luckily when Rivendell housing came out it gave me just enough time to get mine in a presentable state for LOTRO week!
For all the houses I've owned in the game it was hard for me to actually imagine my characters living there. Until now that is! Ethedis lived in Rivendell for most of her life before the story kicks off, so this is meant to be her actual canon house and I was VERY excited to work on it!
If anyone would like to visit her house is 2 Highburg Road in Eithros
I kept the default wall in many of the interior rooms because I already love it and the little white flowers suit Ethedis' vibes very much.
I blocked off the upstairs so I would have more hooks to work with, and I don't think I've filled them all yet so I will probably be adding more to this dining room soon.
the kitchen area is still a bit of a work in progress but I like how its coming together so far :)
and the room I'm probably the most happy with is her library! I loooooove the new wall/floor textures we got, plus, it looks like her not-quite-dad has stopped by for a visit-
Anyway, moving on to the downstairs, here is Ethedis' bedroom! I really wanted to use the new Rivendell bedroom set, but alas it was scaled to hobbit-size for some reason and I had to go with something else. Overall I'm still very happy with her room!
I was initially planning to do something else with the other little room, but then when I got to thinking, it actually made sense to make it Ethuilas' (Ethedis' mother's) room.
Seeing as she brought Ethedis here after the fall of Edhellion, this would have been her house before she sailed and left it to Ethedis. Note the Blazon of the Great Alliance and lore book from Mordor Besieged. In my 'verse Ethuilas was the <Elf> <Loremaster> that Isildur tells you about during the Black Book questline (who did actually survive the ambush, she was just gravely injured). Ethedis knew vaguely that her parents were both a part of that war, but Ethuilas never spoke about it and had to sail West when she was still very young, leaving her in Elrond's care.
As you can see it's pretty much been left like this since Ethuilas left. Ethedis has probably been meaning to clear it out and do something else with the space, maybe turn it into a guest room, but she just hasn't gotten around to it... for the last two hundred someodd years. It's not like she gets many visitors anyway. That Ranger Corunir used to stay here sometimes when he visited the Valley, but he hasn't been around for years now...
...Has this house always been so big?
okok one more for @lotro-week today. So Origins!
I didn't initially plan to do much for today beyond some housing screenshots, but I realized Ethuilas' name was available on Crickhollow so I could get some screenshots of her during the Fall of Edhelion.
Ethuilas fought in the War of the Last Alliance alongside the sons of Isildur who she considered close friends. The war itself took a great toll upon her, but the worst tragedies had yet to befall her.
During the Disaster of the Gladden Fields which took the lives of her friends, she was gravely injured and thought dead by their assailants but remarkably survived. While she attempted to recover in Rivendell from the deep wounds the war had left her with, both physical and mental, she became close with another veteran of the war named Talagan Silvertongue.
Eventually the two were married, and having found peace in one another's presence, went to Ered Luin to found the refuge of Edhelion and have a daughter named Ethedis.
Although, sadly, this peace would not last. Before their daughter was even a year old their refuge was attacked by Dourhand dwarves.
War had found them again.
Talagan bid Ethuilas to flee the library with their daughter, but the refuge was surrounded and they had no way to escape. The fighting forced them back in the direction of the library just in time to see Talagan use the last of his strength to bring down the walls around both himself and Skorgrim, ending the invasion at the cost of his life.
And Ethuilas was left utterly broken. The peace and safety they had finally carved out for themselves destroyed in a matter of hours.
She brought Ethedis to live in Rivendell. She tried with everything she had to raise her without Talagan, but the world had taken so much from her she simply had nothing left to give. She found that Ethedis had inherited her father's eyes, and hair, and laugh... and she could find no comfort in it, only a sharp reminder of what she lost that twisted in her gut like a knife. Eventually it became clear that there would be no peace for her in Middle Earth, and she would have to sail. It was a painful decision, but she tried to comfort herself with the knowledge that they would eventually be reunited in the West, and there she could finally be the mother that Ethedis deserved. If only...
It could be said that Ethedis never truly knew her mother, only the living ghost that was left behind after the Fall of Edhelion.
man idk if I have the mental bandwidth to properly convey the Thoughts I'm having rn, but like, the more I think about Ethuilas the more it makes perfect sense why Ethedis is Like This.

happy mother's day Ethuilas! Torment nexus time <3
hi I drew Ethedis' mom Ethuilas, been very normal about her lately
and Ethuilas thinking that maybe, if she had found the strength to stay, if she could have been there for her daughter, maybe she wouldn't have chosen a mortal fate! Maybe this is all her fault! She did abandon her after all, didn't she? (Elrond knows it isn't her fault and can probably help comfort her, but still)
