Jeronimo-52 could see him. His target glowed with an overshield the same color as his elemental designation: Venom. 52’s eyes squinted as he noticed the distance to the large glowing ork on his scanner. Jumpable, he thought. He consumed an Icarus Haven node as he sprinted, crushing the seed in his hand, and unsheathed his spectral katana with the other, then started flicking a switch on the hilt. He jumped, the effects of the node vaulting him over the others on the field. Their shots went wild. The Juggernaut had taken his time to aim on the other hand, charging his lazer. He fired, straight and true. No matter, 52’s Icarus Haven shielded him perfectly from the beam of super powered photons. He tumbled as he hit the ground, ending up right underneath the Juggernaut. He spun, slicing the Juggernaut in half. “<Th-that was set to Venom, wasn’t it...>” the no longer glowing ork whimpered as he fell in two to the ground. “Yep.” 52 stood up and wiped the curdled blood from his hard-light blade. The round was over, 52 had clinched the winning kill. All of the players teleported back to the spawn point, with the dead ones being rezzed back to life. So went another day in the Arena. —————— So, guess I’m doing Inktober this year, and, you guessed it, it will focus on my ttrpg Ether Split.
