Son to Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes, he was adopted by Tony Stark after the former used the gauntlet to save the universe, sacrificing himself in the process, and leaving an orphan child born in the period affected by the snap. He didn't get to meet his father, Bucky, as he had vanished before his birth, and had no time to recollect meeting his father for he was too young to remember anything.

Tony hid his identity from the beginning, Bucky being accused of being a criminal didn't make things easier for him to be the son of, and instead, thought it better to keep him secret. As a Stark, though, he was forced to parade while growing up like a rich boy, hiding his powers in plain sight. And as these developed and time passed, it became easier to pretend being the shallow son of IronMan with no interest in saving the day, while in secret, he was toying around as the New Captain America, after Sam's retirement.

Ethan used his powers to finally get to meet his parents, travelling to points in time where they wouldn't lie about themselves, because they wouldn't know he was there.

Ethan opssesses the ability to move at unlimited speeds, capable of travelling through time, process information within the second, or generate energy among other purposes. He was trained by Bucky to be as competent with the shield as his parents.
