Hi! I came across your Spectre review and I agree with many of the things you said. I loved the movie but the ending was so ooc, I agree they probably did it to show the end of Craig Bond era but I can't believe Bond would drive off with her and quit, it's not his style. The romance between him and Madeleine looked fake but it's a Bond movie so I took it as a necessary part of the genre lol. But otherwise I really loved the cinematography and the squad and Q in particular
yep, I feel like that even though the movie is already two and half hours long, they are still rushing things. Imo, in Spectre the story is too sprawling and they couldn’t cover enough of it to be coherent and ultimately the romance between Bond and Madeliene just couldn’t sell convincingly. As to Bond leaving with the girl, again as I answered another ask, I feel like it was just going back to a more classic Bond, just like in Die Another Day with Pierce Brosnan’s Bond. (the only other previous version Bond movies that I watch). There are so many interesting points that I would like to see more, such as how is the foster-brothers dynamic of Bond and Franz, in the movie I barely see any play on that dynamic except in paper and photo, I mean, they just seem like any other enemies in any other movies, while the adoption of Bond is what seems to be the starting point of Franz’ criminal career. And another point, I catch that with the ending, Bond is quitting to go be happily ever after with Madeliene, to stop being a killer and leave the life of ‘hunting and being hunted’, as she put it, and here I thought what Bond does was stopping evil people, saving people, and serving Queen and country, does that mean nothing at all?
Gah, it got so long again, and I’m not sure if I’m being coherent or not, but there. There are many many issues that I have with Spectre, and its not only because he runs off with the girl and leave Q all sad and moping alone in his lab, though that is a big part of it yes.
