Dante and His Anxiety/PTSD:
Dante gained his anxiety and PTSD after the drunk driving incident when he was thirteen. Seeing how fucked up Ethan and Peyton's bodys were along with the insane ammount of blood traumatized him tremendously (don't see how it wouldn't traumatize anyone honestly)
His parents orginaly didn't see the need to get him checked since they didnt want to embarrass there son (and the family) about him haveing mental illnesses but when it came to the point we're he would screamed, kick and cry when they told him they were going anywhere in a moving vehicle made them realize he genuinely needed help.
He has nightmares about the crash, often walking up sweating and very disoriented.
Nightmares aren’t always about the crash itself tho sometimes they’re about being trapped or unable to move.
On bad nights, he walks around the house to “prove” he’s safe before going back to bed.
Engine sounds are a big trigger. Not just cars, lawnmowers, revving motorcycles, even buses idling outside school can spike his heart rate.
He counts exits whenever he has to be in a vehicle. It’s his survival brain trying to stay in control of the situation.
He prefers walking or biking everywhere, even in bad weather.
If forced into a car, he insists on sitting next to the door or rolling the windows down enough that he can climb out if needed.
He struggles with guilt for surviving since Peyton and Ethan had so much to live for and lost there lives because he didnt bother to get a sober adult to drive them.
