In other news I had to go to work this morning my job is essential service and oreo wouldn't go out of my room so I could shut my door while I was gone but then kept standing right by my feet and doing laps around me ;^; I feel like such a bad bunny mum
All right kiwis, listen up. I got some psa's for ya. (potentially relevant for the rest of the world too)
Now that we are in lock down, please stay home as much as possible and practice social distancing when you can't. Those of us who are essential workers are out there for you. We are facing this thing head on so we can all get through it. Don't take that lightly please.
Essential services. This does not include your local cafe. Or warehouse. There are businesses out there trying to claim they are essential when they are not. Please do not support them. Report them if you can. The only way this works is if everyone follows the rules.
In a similar vein, within those essential services, there may be people who are not essential. If you feel like you could be working from home. Push to be able to do so. If you think your company is putting too many people at risk because you aren't actually doing anything, report them. We should have minimal people working currently. We want to minimise bubbles. If the damn medical field can operate on a skeleton crew to improve everyone's safety (and belive me, we are), so can pretty much everyone else.
If you are out at work or the supermarket and you want to wear a mask to feel safer, Go for it. But be aware you need to be using it properly. It needs to be covering your nose and mouth, be secured properly on your head/behind your ears, and you should not touch it once on.
Same goes for gloves. Use them appropriately. You can't just put gloves on and continue like you normally would. The idea behind gloves is to be hyper aware of your hands and not touch your face with them on. Act like you've got poo on the gloves at all times and you don't want to get it on the rest of you. You still need to wash your hands before and after wearing gloves too. They have micro holes and your hands will be sweaty and therefore more likely to pick something up from a surface.
Wash your hands. With soap and water. Frequently. For 20 seconds at a time. Sing happy birthday twice.
Remember, this lock down will only work if we all work together and follow the rules.
That was long but thanks for reading the ramblings of a frustrated healthcare worker✌️
Apparently 88 thousand people lost their jobs in Australia yesterday when the lockdowns in various states came suddenly into effect.
I can't..... actually wrap my head around that.88 thousand jobs lost in one day.
Our state has just closed all borders and travel both interstate and intrastate, and the premier has just announced that he’s letting the Easter Bunny in to deliver eggs after he got an email from a 9 year old girl asking if he still can. Bro I am so soft this is the purest damn thing ever.

Florida Union's Dodge a Bullet
The Legislative Session in Tallahassee is Finally Over and Florida Union's Dodge a Bullet.
It’s finally over, the 2021 Florida Legislative Session has come to a close on Friday April 30, 2021. Union’s had been under a relentless attack during one of the worst legislative sessions in recent memory, but we were successful in our fight to stand up for our brothers and sisters, and working people throughout the state. There were many pieces of disgusting legislation, but few that were worse…
