mars is the planet of frustration, conflict, and energy. though mars isn’t just about anger and how we express it, it’s also how we control our anger !! i originally talked about this concept in a tweet last september

looking at the essential dignity of mars, you can get a lot of insight on how mars operates in the signs + how that affects our anger management skills:

Sun in Aquarius

The Sun is considered to be in its detriment in Aquarius because the native is trying to find a sense of significance and importance through the mental assumption of being different. Confidence and radiance is gained through taking pride in the unconventional, the odd or the absurd. The Aquarius Sun learned that there was no way in which one could radiate some special quality of uniqueness and selfhood, which led the native to shine through the counterintuitive way of profiling oneself as a certain ”type” within a group, stubbornly going against the grain and rebelling against norms in order to carve out an identity for the self.

Sun in Libra

The Sun is considered to be in its fall in Libra because the native is basing confidence and personal importance on how well one is able to conduct oneself in order to fit the ideal. A sense of significance is achieved through excelling on the social arena, in making oneself appealing to others and achieving a sense of seamless perfection through being reasonable, sane and agreeable. This is a person who learned that to be someone, was to be able to play the game of society to one’s advantage, to intellectually and aesthetically promote sophistication. Being approved of is the most important thing - adjusting and modifying to achieve social supremacy.

Mercury in Sagittarius

Mercury is in its detriment in Sagittarius because the mental flow is designed to pick up on broader themes in the environment and overlook the neutral details. The mind is speculative rather than observant, following a trail of interesting possibilities that ignore the immediate reality. The native is bored easily and doesn’t have patience for the process of learning. One wants to get to the destination, to the end without having to go through the tedious process of mental labour. There’s a love of learning but a restlessness that prompts the person to seek out more interesting content instead of being patient and digging into the material at hand. There’s a love of mental shortcuts.

Mercury in Pisces

(I just saw this post and I thought it was a good opportunity to talk abt how essential dignity changes planets in my style of astrology. Don’t go out and try to find op. Their feelings are vaild)

Now, I appreciate y’all’s optimism but Jupiter is in fall there, and that changes the picture entirely.

Fall is not a good place to have a planet (though it is not bad, it just has less support.) For those you who don’t know what a fall is: A fall is when a planet is in the opposite sign of when a planet is exalted. A planet being exalted is like being at a best friends house. It causes this effect where the planet becomes stronger through the support of the sign and thus has a larger influence.

When you have a planet in fall, however, that’s like a planet falling down the stairs. It feels a sudden total lack of support and it starts either 1.) acting out in odd ways or 2.) is weakened.

Now, the main point being made is that Jupiter is going into a sign of wealth and prosperity. However Jupiter doesn’t mesh well with the practical energy of Capricorn, that effect is better created with a Jupiter in Taurus, which actually rules money! Capricorn rules reputation and career.

Also, Capricorn loathes luck. Hates it! Capricorn loves effort and hard work, things Jupiter don’t create, it actually creates ease. Capricorn wants to see you improve while Jupiter wants to see you start fine. It also doesn’t help that Capricorn is a sign of restrictions!

Venus in Aries

Venus is considered to be in its detriment in Aries because there’s a tendency for the native to equate happiness with a strong energetic charge. From a perspective of development, the Venus in Aries individual grew up associating social security, value and attractiveness with achievement, with being able to stand up for something and challenge people, to outperform them. The way the native is going about securing value is counterintuitive which makes it more difficult to get along with others, to settle into a restful relationship. Pushing and poking is not productive when trying to secure peace.

Venus in Scorpio

Venus is considered to be in its detriment in Scorpio because the native equates security, contentment and stability with the fear of separation. The person learned early on that love could only be felt from bonding over shared emotional upheaval and trauma. Socializing is more than experiencing ease and pleasantness, it’s a complex psychological dance than someone either wins or fails. Relating is a deep, probing and suffocatingly intimate. The level of depth that is brought into the sphere of casual encounters often make the native and others uncomfortable.

Venus in Virgo

Moon in Capricorn

The Moon is considered to be in its detriment in Capricorn because the way the person processes emotions is by forcing them to be something they're not which manifests as hardening to the world. The emotional nature, in order to relate to the environment in an effectual way that facilitates bonding and healthy attachment, has to be more sensitive and responsive while possessing the qualities of defensiveness and protectiveness in order to not become too overwhelmed. The native learned early on that true feelings were considered weak and that the only way to gain intimacy and closeness was to react in a calculated way, to be rock solid. There’s usually a distrust of emotions and a stronger emphasis on following the secure/beaten path than listening to the emotional guidance system. A stone cold temperament is characteristic of this placement, of showing what’s expected and that which leads to desired long-term stability. The risk is building relationships that feel forced and arranged rather than natural and safe. The person tries to buy security and closeness through working on responding "appropriately".

Moon in Scorpio

The Moon is considered to be in its fall in Scorpio because the emotional responses to the environments are hidden. There’s a fear of reacting or responding in a way that might upset the apple cart to a point of no return. The inner responses to the environment are strong and overwhelming to the extent of feeling completely crippled and terrorized. The intense experiences are rarely shared because they are difficult for others to deal with and understand. They become a burden to cope with on one’s own but they are too much to share. There’s a destructiveness and debilitating facet to the inner world, intimacy is craved but rarely felt because of a strong distrust and suspicion of unexpected and unpredictable facets to the personality of others and of the self. Emotional build-ups and fear of losing control is common, as well as compulsive possessiveness. These are highly empathetic individuals, but they're very demanding and intolerant. Calm on the outside, perhaps, but can build up to violently upsets and will secretly resent the world and everyone in it. The highs are very high, the lows are very low. Isolation is a common coping mechanism, as well as social stimulation in excess. Extremes are characteristic of this placement.

Uranus in Leo

Uranus is considered to be in its detriment in Leo because the eccentric force that this planet represents is not doing well in a sign that’s all about dignity and pride. Uranus is the erratic impulses that force change and disruption. Trying to center oneself and reconnect with something authentic and inspiring becomes a very destabilizing endeavor when Uranus is in this sign. These people are trying to draw attention to themselves by being different, trying to find a greater sense of authority and respect through expressing in an unpredictable way. This is counterintuitive to say the least and can cause a lot of issues. The more strange and disruptive - the more deviant, the more confident.

Uranus in Taurus

Uranus is considered to be in its fall in Taurus because the disruption and breaks that this planet stands for are trying to express through a sign that’s associated with stability, comfort and a resistance to change. Uranus is an eccentric planet that strikes from nowhere and is quite the opposite of maintaining a sense of permanence. The result is often that these individuals expect there to be unexpected changes to their basic comforts and physical safety and will probably try to find a sense of ease through shaking things up. This is counteractive but it will be in the name of feeling pleasure, in the name of gaining a sense of value. The weirder - the more attractive and pleasant.
