#espressoroll

Small matchi sketch I did today, idk if I might color it tmr. And butter roll. Lots of butter roll and a little espresso sneak bc I love espressoroll

▪️right person/wrong time, meeting in college and falling in love but not having the time to commit, subtle touches and wistful glances also knowing they can't make it official...yet...

▪️late night study sessions, some TV show on in the background (maybe like, Twilight Zone/Doctor Who, -esqe), falling asleep on each other :)

▪️they love sci-fi and horror, visibly cringing at each other when there's something wildly inaccurate, but then again, you can't take Jellywood seriously.

▪️ eventually the topic of the future has to come up and Espresso realizes Butter Roll wants a lot more from him than he can offer for some time...but he can't resist indulging in the fantasy. They talk about having their own laboratory someday -- massive, stocked to the brim, the freedom to do whatever they want. Research partners, life partners, it's all the same.

▪️...but that doesn't happen. When espresso finds butter rolls dorm room empty, completely cleaned out with no explanation or goodbye, a part of him breaks. Maybe he didn't want to wait for him after all. He develops a strong distaste for positive, enthusiastic blonds.

▪️it isn't until years later, after his breakthrough discovery on magic candy, when he finds himself waking up on the stone floor of a dark laboratorium that he is once again reunited with his soulmate
