Please please please be careful while you are in the city, especially this year. Yes the riots have calmed down but the crime rates have been extremely high in the time following and violent crimes are increasing. Please if you are not familiar or native to the city only go in areas you are familiar with and that are close to the con/tourist areas and try to never go anywhere alone especially at night. Baltimore isn’t a horrible city but there are a lot of areas that the crime is more prevalent and it has its own fair amount of sketchy areas. Also black cosplayers should be extremely careful with their props and where they go as well due to the police brutality and racism issue that the city is battling, there should be an understanding because this is a con but don’t assume that everyone knows what cosplay is and that your prop isn’t real. Please everyone,  don’t throw caution to the wind just because its a con.
