Pretend that Ardyn works mostly behind the scenes and doesn’t make public appearances often enough to be recognized? I mean that’s how I interpreted Iggy not knowing from the get go but then again we see him out and about in Kingsglaive…not that it mattered because of the destruction of that day soooo…would that help?
I think that’s the most common assumption people have to explain away this fact, that Ardyn doesn’t make public appearances, and I think that’s understandable enough, but he is still a chancellor, and the “reveal” after Titan has Ignis going *gasp* Imperial Chancellor Ardyn Izunia? as if he couldn’t piece it together until Ardyn revealed his last name, and that seems incredibly silly.
Disregarding all of that, and say people really have no clue who one of the highest political figures of Niflheim is...
Cor is not an impressionable 20 year old who is willing to open his heart to strangers. He’s a hard ass military Marshal and the moment Ardyn comes 10ft within Noctis’s range Cor would go ‘NO’.
He’s going to be a bit smarter than that, I’m not saying the bros are ignorant, more that they’re naive. They don’t have life experience, and whatever experience they have, they’re not using it very wisely. Ardyn wouldn’t even get to the point to offer driving them to Titan, but even if he got that far with Cor around, I cannot see Cor trusting him, and he would not give into the bros little banter about ‘we shouldn’t judge’ and fall into peer pressure, he’s not the type.
Anyway, I kind of rambled, I just mean Cor would drastically change things, and I’m not sure if other writers would appreciate that, or hate that, so I’ve been hesitant to ever have Cor join as a party member, I’ve had some other RP’ers resist any of my ideas for what he would do, it’s somewhat discouraging to attempt to develop that verse at all.
