It was planned a day before, Rosie was supposed to come over for a visit since it had been a while – and it was going to be one of those usual ‘girly’ nights where they talked about everything and everyone like always. Oh, yeah, there was going to be a few boxes of pizza too.
“She should be here any moment now,” Iris told herself with a whisper as she continued to put away the hundreds of books she had stacked up on the table in the living room. All about her aero engineering – that was all she did nowadays; read, work, eat and sleep. Although she had money, too much money, she always preferred to work than to sit back home and allow all her thoughts consume her – to fucking destroy her. No, that was just not going to happen. Not again. So, she continued on with her little miserable life, which seemed to be so happy to others because she was successful. And that was what everyone wanted to be – successful. But they had no idea what she had been through to be like this; no one would understand. No one. Because that was nothing a sane person would understand.
Knock, knock.
Must be Rosie, she thought – until she opened the door and was immediately surprised but a tall, stranger. “Iris Cho?” He asked, but just as she was about to answer, he stepped inside, pushed her back a little and grabbed a hold of her throat with both his hands. Those long, thick fingers put as much pressure around the base of her throat as they could. Surprised and completely lost, she tried to loosen his hands and get away from him, but it was just impossible – and for once, Iris tried to not go back to her old self – the one who would know what to do in situations like these. Fuck. It was too hard, though. However, a few seconds after, when her eyes met his – she immediately recognized him and something within her woke up; blood covered her eyes and she tried to not let the dizziness, due to the lack of air, stop her.
Iris lift her leg up and pressed her foot against his stomach quite roughly before she pushed him away with all the strength she had left in her body. And she was free, free to breathe in again. But she was only able to cough a few times before he aimed to attack her again. However, this time she was smart – she ducked and kicked his shin which made him fall backwards, right on his back. Iris didn’t hesitate with her next movement, and got on top of him before she grabbed into the vase on the table and hit his head with it. The glass vase shattered into pieces but the man was knocked out, and in this situation one would think that Iris would stop – but she didn’t. Grabbing a piece of the sharp glass, she stabbed him, making his blood gush out all over the place and she wouldn’t stop until a meow from a cat was heard. Oh shit.
“…R-Rosie? I…I can explain.” But what she didn’t realize was that she had been standing there for a while – seeing it all. So, she could guess it was fine? Because this wasn’t her fault. Bullshit. “He…he attacked me out of nowhere and I got scared. I’m–” Flickering her gaze away from the other female, she cast a glance on her hands, on her clothes – on the floor. It was all red, just like she liked it. But she couldn’t allow the other to know – so she did what a normal person would do, and that was to scream. Scream at the top of her lungs and acting as if she is scared of it – of the dead body beneath her. “I’m sorry–” Iris yelled as she quickly pushed herself off of the body, and backed. “What have I done?”
“Rosie–” She breathed heavily before her voice fell into a whisper, “Help me…”
