They can't rationally explain the issues with a toy. Of course they fucking can't. But that doesn't mean that the toy doesn't effect them. That it doesn't have an impact on them. 

They can't understand why mommy and daddy split up, but that has an impact, they can't understand or maybe even notice that women in cartoons are treated differently, but it matters to them developmentally. They learn from everything. They are friggen sponges. 

Adults and older collectors CAN rationally discuss these and explore the problems, not just in the toys but in the cartoons and the treatment of little girls by society in general. We can realize and put together these horrible trends and say something about it. (Although we can it appears most chose not to)

A fucking kid is really unlikely to be able to talk about this on the same level. So using that as a reason or an excuse is pathetic.

My dog doesn't care that chewing certain things could kill him. He just likes chewing on them. It's my job as an intelligent and rational human being to make sure he learns not to chew on them and that he only has access to safe things. It doesn't mean I should let him chew on it because he doesn't know better!

A kid doesn't care that candy and chocolate are bad for them, they may not understand that they're bad for them, but that doesn't mean as adults we just shut up and let them eat what the fuck they want. We educate and control.
