After not really finding anything to talk about, Ernie decided to call it a night, Seb walked out with him onto the patio of the coffee shop and Ernie, wanting to be nice gave Sebastian a friendly hug.

ERNIE- “I had a very interesting evening Sebastian, thank you.”

Suddenly Sebastian grabbed and and then landed a big kiss.

SEBASTIAN- “I had a great evening! Maybe we can go back to my place for a dink?”

ERNIE- “No, I think I had enough, so call me, okay?”

So, Ernie tried a different angle.

ERNIE- “Why did you move here from France? France just seems like a beautiful place to live.”

SEBASTIAN- “Yes, France was beautiful, all my family still live there, well except for my brother. It was really hard to live there though after Lucian died, Lucian was my husband you know. All those memories just kept coming into my mind. So I thought I would move here and try to start over.”

ERNIE- “Oh, I am so sorry. I had no idea.”

SEBASTIAN- “It is okay, for us to become involved you should know these things.”

A few weeks later Sebastian finally talked Ernie to a coffee date. They met up at, But First, Coffee. Ernie had a cappuccino and Sebastian had a frappe. Not that makes a difference. But maybe it is an omen of the future?

ERNIE- “ So, you said you had an older brother?”

Ernie thought maybe talking about family he would get to know Sebastian better. 

SEBASTIAN- “Yes, but he is an ex felon, got caught laundering money and spent the last five years in jail, married one of the female guards, took her for all she had and then divorced her and followed me here to Brindleton.”

ERNIE- “Oh, okay.”

SEBASTIAN- “I do really like you Ernie. You are smart and very attractive, maybe we could enter into some lovemaking upstairs in my boudoir? “

ERNIE- “Sebastian, This was not a date, this was just getting to know one another, and even if it was a date, it would be our first date. Not sure if they do things this quickly in France, but here in Brindleton, well for me anyway, lovemaking should come later. Much later.”

SEBASTIAN- “For being so forward, I apologize, but yes, in France things many times move quickly. Especially if you really fond of a person, as I am very fond of you.”

After one of Sebastian’s famous French meals, ( Chicken confit. In his own recipe, Sebastián’s classic confit, the chicken is salted and seasoned with herbs, then slowly cooked in olive oil to make it rich and tender.) He and Ernie settled to the living room to watch “A Dog’s Long Journey”, which the three of them, Including Chip was not amused. So Seb started a conversation to try and salvage the evening.

SEBSTIAN- “So after Lucien died, I decided to change my scenery and came here to Brindleton. I like the breeze from the bay. It reminds me of hometown, but not the sadness, you know?”

SEBASTIAN- “Your father, ah. I see. I see a resemblance, yes. However, you are much more handsome.”

ERNIE- “Thank you, Mr. Garnier. Now bring Chip back in one month and bring a stool sample so that we can check for heart worms'.”

SEBASTAIN- “You did change subject, I am sorry to offend. I would like to invite you over for dinner, would you accept?”

ERNIE- “Dinner? For?”

SEBSTAIN- “Chip. He likes you. He said you are a good doctor and wants you to visit us and have dinner.”

ERNIE- “Uh, well. I am sorry, Mr. Garnier, but I do not make a habit of dating my client’s owners.”

SEBASTIAN-  “No, no date, and please call me Seb. No date, just dinner. Conversation and a glass of wine, as friends? I am new here in town and know very limited people. Chip does not take no for an answer, I am am afraid.”

ERNIE- “Then I suppose I can not say no then.”

SEBASTIAN- “No, you can not. So Wednesday 6:00 p.m.?”

A couple weeks had passed since Chip was at the Vet and his visit with Dr. Josh. It was time for his follow-up visit. And time to meet the new Vet at the clinic.

SEBASTIAN- “Sorry buddy, Dr. Josh is not here anymore, we are seeing a new doctor today.

About that time the new Vet came out and introduced himself. Sebastian thought he look somewhat familiar.

ERNIE- “Hello Mr. Garnier, my name is Ernie Olivias, we meet a few weeks ago, when Chip ran off from you near your home?”

SEBASTIAN- “Oh, okay, I did not recognize you in clothing. Oh, I mean your uniform. That did not translate so properly.”

ERNIE- “That is fine. No problem. So how is our friend Chip?”

SEBASTIAN- “Did you say Olivias? Are you related to Ernesto, the attorney?”

SEBASTIAN- “He doesn’t like a bath, and he run off while I was trying to bathe him. Thank you for finding him!”

ERNIE- “Yeah, no problem, I am ----
