ok yeah again. i think they cooked with vaggi's concept as a character but not so much with her actual writing. my read on her is that she's been raised with tough militaristic ideals, she's "strong" and has a deeply-held sense of duty and honour, but is simultaneously completely passive and afraid. she wants to protect charlie, but feels like she would be completely lost (or even not alive at all) without her love and guidance. she's basically a weak person wearing a strong person's skin (an actually interesting idea)
but it feels like the show takes both of these things for granted? they show "vaggi being assertive" and "vaggi being charlie's devoted girlfriend" at different moments and don't really examine the dichotomy all that much. the negative sides of her devotion (or like, the fact she basically uses it as a coping mechanism/to feel a sense of security) aren't really shown, or like... the internality of it, the fact she leans on charlie for direction and purpose but doesn't want to outwardly seem vulnerable. it unfortunately makes her/charlie seem a bit sauceless as a ship in practice even though it's pretty interesting in theory
