Erlend realized he wasn't a god, that despite all his power and immortality he was still just a man. He thought it was too late when he encountered a true god.
A peasant born beneath snow-covered mountains; a merchant who sailed the Mediterranean; a god who reigned over Mount Olympus. And a man who had sworn to protect humanity from his own kind.
That god, that creature, gave him a chance, a mission. To correct his mistakes and prove worthy of bearing his name. And he has been doing so for thousands of years, and continues to do so. Because he knows they will not sleep forever.
Dotta, Pouncer's rider. Dotta is the daughter of the chief of their village and the leader of the dragon rider group. She is shy and has trouble making friends, but Pouncer has helped her really come out of her shell and socialize.
Erlend, Dart's rider. Erlend is the village trouble maker, but only does so out of playfulness instead of maliciousness. His pranks often go wrong, but his friends and dragon are always there to get him out of trouble.
Vog, Ruffrunner's rider. Vog and his dragon are much alike as they are often found lounging and keeping to themselves. Dotta and Erlend are usually dragging him around on their crazy adventures.

A peaceful farewell to this handsome fellow. Erlend here was a remarkably gentlemanly cat, who was always loving and patient with human babies, foster kittens, and the other cats in the household.
