Being honest, I don’t like the tension between some Erina and Megumi fans nor the tension between Soumegu and Sorina shippers, mostly because both of them are great and they don’t deserve ANY HATE. You’ll never see me saying that I hate Megumi in any way.

Megumi was a shy and girl who grew up to become a great and self-reliant chef. To be able to look at her and see how hard she’s fighting to become the best version of herself makes me so happy, and i’m not gonna lie, i’d love to more of the new Megumi.

Now about Erina. 

Erina was a rich himidere (full of herself), but at the same time, she never had many friends before. Once she joined the Polar Star Dormitory she began to become more enlightened and caring, showing her true colors - a sweet and somewhat shy and silly girl - that her father stole from her when she was a child. Yet Erina have a great sense of duty and pride for what she is doing, and now she is doing her best to support others as well. She is becoming more likeable as the days go by.

Let’s not forget. Megumi and Erina are GOOD FRIENDS. Erina wants Megumi to be more confident of herself - she knows that Megumi is a great chef and wants to make sure that she knows it. And Megumi wants to be a good friend to Erina, and she wants to make Erina happy. They really care about each-other and they can rely on each other. Their relationship is not about Souma, it’s a relationship between two friends committed to the same goal - effectively become the best chef they can.

So i think we can stop acting like they are love-rivals...?

Shokugeki still a manga about food, Shokugeki still a shonen, Shokugeki is not a lovey-dovey love triangle anime. And it’s still too soon to tell what’s to come, besides assumptions, so i think everyone should enjoy their ships without harassing others.

After all, both Megumi and Erina are the best girls.
