Sorry this took a bit and honestly i get why a lot of people don’t see it. A lot of that is because they really didn’t do much with Shirley.   (Which i will yell about till the end of days) The few moments we get of Jeff and Shirley. we get soft moments. (I wish i had gifs but there is a moment of him kissing the top of her head somewhere. )  They also have a backstory that no one else had that never got explored.  Jeff and Shirley knew each other before they really changed to become who they are now. In the episode where we get that backstory we find out after that match Jeff became more jaded and Shirley controlled her anger more. So honestly they both would have someone to be more vulnerable with. Shirley saw Jeff for who he was in his heart and would tell him that but never judged him,  On the flip side, Jeff saw Shirley's anger and gossip. He saw it as interesting. It was something they got along with.  The few moments we really saw them together they actually worked well. they have vulnerable moments. they had moments of indulging in who they were.  In truth we got very few moments of Jeff and Shirley together. We got very little character growth and moments of Shirley and Shirley didn't get enough of anything on that show.  I think if they had been put together it could have been a good move for them both  But once again Shirley was underused in the show in every way. I’m probably missing stuff on here but if you go under their tags on my page you can probably find a lot of post that i’ve talked about them on.

[ this is a queued post. ] hi! over the next few days (and most probably, the next week), I'm going to be extremely busy with a lot of real life stuff, and just mentally I've been doing awful and tumblr has not been helping that at all. you can still reach me on my snapchat and my instagram if you have it (and if you want to reach me, feel free to ask my friends for one or the other) but it's tumblr specifically that's becoming a toxic place as I have been using it more as a diary than a social platform, resulting in lots and lots of arguments, which is inexcusable on my end, and is ending up bringing out the worst in others, too. so, to maybe hit the reset button, I'm going on hiatus. I'll definitely be back, but I will be deleting the app from my devices so that a) I don't give in and check it, and b) nobody in real life finds my blogs in the process of all this moving and whatnot lmao. please feel free to (in fact I encourage you to) reblog this to spread the word!
