Seeing Hannah had clearly ruined Josh's big speech, the truth coming out in bits and pieces, but she couldn't care less about his prank now that she knew he was still alive; Mike had tried to protest, because Josh had apparently pretended to be some kind of psycho killer and they were all oh so mad about it, but Hannah had snapped back a: "Good for you. At least I don't have to get revenge, you got lucky," that had immediately brought back the same uncomfortable tension from before, when she had reunited with Sam. Truthfully, Hannah didn't think she'd have been able to pay them back at all - what was she going to do, sob hard at them? - but her expression and tone must have sold the threat for her. So she took her brother to get some rest downstairs, since he was clearly in need of help, and she was now busy checking that the weapons she had brought in her dufflebag were ready.

ㅤ"All I said was that I love watching you work. Don't see what's wrong with that," he pointed out, perfectly reasonably. It was entirely true on the surface level that he presented because Sai was a professional and honestly, something of an artist when it came to dealing death. There were those that would likely say something similar about him, but she made him feel like the blunt force instrument that he'd been used as for so many decades.

"not much to talk about." everyone always had some level of worry when finding out that ally had gone missing for an entire year. why was there an old missing poster here of all places? they didn't think anyone in their life would've noticed, let alone cared. maybe lynn, but... none of that really mattered.

they wanted to pretend that these things didn't happen, or at the very least pretend that they've moved on from those traumatic experiences. but of course they hadn't- they couldn't even remember where they were that entire time. a whole year of their life completely erased from memory.. that would be torture for anyone wanting answers.

"they say not all who wander are lost." a phrase & mindset that helps them relax when they're unsure of their surroundings. they were known for being in places you wouldn't expect. showing up out of the blue, so to speak. fitting, given their appearance.

it was still early in the morning- the sun had barely lit up the sky. why would anyone be out in the woods this early? head tilts slightly, hoping that they didn't come off as creepy or anything for being out here alone. not a people person, but they'll try just this once.
