The Years of Rain and Thunder by Ørdop Wolkenscheidt, releases 26 August 2025 1. The Rains to Come 2. The Static Sound of Time Dispersing (I) 3. The News 4. The Power's out. 5. The Deal with the Sycamore Trees 6. The Static Sound of Time Dispersing (II) 'The Years of Rain and Thunder' is a meditation on community, fear, and courage in an unraveling world. As the old systems fall away, we begin again—closer to the land, to each other, and to the rhythms we've forgotten. We grow food in shared gardens where parking lots used to be, power our homes with the sun, and rebuild our communities with care at the center. In the cracks of collapse, new worlds are already taking root—not driven by fear, but by the quiet, radical act of imagining something better. This record is loosely inspired by the solarpunk 'outposts' of the activist movement 'A Fierce Blue Fire' in Stephen Markley’s 2023 near-future political novel The Deluge. How and where do we live as the world as we know it unravels? I attempted to formulate my own personal answers to these questions into a few musical segments. 'Violence against nature always goes hand in hand with violence against people.' Thank you for listening, as always <3 x Ørdop Wolkenscheidt
