Rambling about Fairies - Anime Episode 80
So, the definitive best thing about the Gajeel anime addition is Edolas Gajeel. He’s just a goofy little weirdo that’s so different, yet so similar.
Earthland Gajeel is spylike and agent-esque, and he’s willing to get his hands dirty if it’s for the greater good of the situation. He’s capable of doing side missions like these, he’s reliable, albeit sketchy and people find him untrustworthy because of how skeevy he acts and looks.
It’s perfect that his equivalent is a freelance journalist, writing about the truth in a world full of deep-seated corruption.
I really like the way they click. Everything from the intonation of their voices, the formality in their speech, the way they dress, the way they sit, their hair, it’s all polar opposites.
And yet, Gajeel has never been so open and amicable to anyone in a first conversation before. He instantly knows they’re both individuals in a world, working in a field where they’re inevitably making tons of enemies on a fairly lonely road.
They know, despite their differences, that they can understand each other in a way the people of the world just can’t.
Also they are both absolute dorks.
I love Gajeel’s Edolas version as much as all the others, because they reflect, so perfectly. Quite a shame he only exists in the anime.
