Here is how we ended up at war with Iran.
And it’s messy as hell.
The United States sent the president’s son-in-law and a real estate donor to “handle” nuclear talks.
They had no idea how a reactor even works.
They did not bring the actual scientists along.
Iran reportedly offered to hand over the uranium.
Trump bombed them anyway.
New reporting lays it out like a script written by a drunk writer who somehow got a security clearance.
Trump’s top envoys on Iran’s nuclear program were Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.
Jared you know as Trump’s son-in-law.
Steve Witkoff is a Trump donor and property developer.
These are the guys you call if you want them check out a luxury condo, not if you’re trying to keep 60% enriched uranium from turning into a regional war.
Witkoff, asked about his qualifications, said he “wouldn’t tell you I’m an expert in nuclear,” but he has “read quite a bit” and feels competent to sit at the table.
Jared too, he says.
That is not comforting.
That’s the answer you give when you are bluffing your way through a group project, not when the stakes are “try not to ignite the Middle East.”
Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff misunderstood the reactor, skipped the scientists, walked past an off-ramp, and helped talk Trump into bombi
