I LOVE QUEER STRAIGHT PEOPLE
Queer straight people -- queerhets -- are important and valuable members of the queer community.
They always have been and they always will be.
Queerhet people are marginalized by wider society for being queer-- for being trans or aro or whatever they are. Queerhet people are also marginalized within queer spaces for being straight.
Make an effort to think about the endless "the straights" and "ew straight people" and "I hate straight people" and "straights are the oppressors" and "I love queer spaces there's no straights here" that queerhet people face within the queer community.
Utilize a cognitive empathy skill for a moment-- consider how fucking shitty you would feel if queer people constantly shat on your identity and said being that identity made you an enemy to queer people, that your presence was inherently a danger to other queer people, that you were harming queer people and didn't belong in their spaces.
Can you agree that that would fucking suck? That's what queerhet people face CONSTANTLY.
Queerhet people deserve to have pride not just in their queer identity, but also in their hetero orientations. Being het is an important part of their identity -- literally half of the queerHET -- and it doesn't make them ~less queer~.
We need to collectively shake this notion of "queer" and "straight" being opposites. Being straight is not inherently a queerless existence.
HET â "NOT QUEER"
And even many queerhet peoples' orientations ARE STILL QUEER.
Shoutout to
Transhets
Including en(by)hets (?)
Arohets
Acehets
Inter(sex)hets (?)
Polyamhets (?)
Any other queerhets
Their respective spectra
Any combos, like arotranshets
(?) = I actually don't know if that's the term ^^'
You are NOT "less queer" for being het. You have a PLACE in queer spaces. People who exclude you from queer spaces are in the WRONG.
Queerhets are simply QUEER. and HET. This is NOT an oxymoron.
Stop saying "the straights" when you mean "cishets". Cut the "ew straight people" in favor of "ugh cishets" and "this is why all my real friends are queer people".
Queerhets are NOT "THE OPPRESSOR" and they are NOT "INVADING QUEER SPACES".
They have a place in queer spaces, a voice in queer issues, and a right to your respect of those-- you guys are just caught up on t3rfy notions that being lgbtqia+ is about attraction to the same gender and not divergence from cisheteronormativity.
