Capstone Discussion
Through reading these plays, I learned that Shakespeare is not impossible to read and understand. I was unaware of how many different types/genres of plays Shakespeare created. Even though these plays were written so long ago, many of the themes and messages are common in modern works. I was not particularly excited to take this class, but when I started reading, I was anxious to see what would happen next. I feel more confident analyzing difficult pieces and communicating my ideas about them with others.
Capstone Discussion and Project?
I have not seen anything for Capstone or group readings so I just went ahead to work on the final project instead. I am so confused...
Capstone Discussion*
Before taking this class, I did not know much about Shakespeare and I had only read one of his plays. Now, after reading several plays by William Shakespeare, I realize that many stories I have read and movies I have seen follow similar plots as Shakespeare's plays. I also know now that Shakespeare sometimes got his ideas for storylines from old stories and mythology. It has made me wonder if humans always stay the same deep down, even though we are always changing. One thing that is certain, Shakespeare found very unique ways to tell tales of humankind. Shakespeare used words to create captivating stories that displayed the human character in so many brilliant ways. He used metaphors, symbolism, soliloquies, realistic characters, and iambic pentameter to construct new worlds on the stage. Shakespeare influenced the entire world and is still the most famous playwright today, after four hundred years. I am interested in reading more of Shakespeare's plays and learning what they mean, because there is always a deeper meaning when it comes to Shakespeare. I have developed a respect for William Shakespeare that I did not have before taking this class.
*I want to note that I am not exactly sure what we are supposed to do for our capstone discussions, but it must be something like a summary of what we learned, I am guessing.
What do we do next?
Can anyone tell me what we are doing next? I'm getting worried that I'm behind and I can't get any responses :) thanks

Othello discussion
The play for me was much easies to read and follow than all of them. The characters were simple and not to much confusion with the plot and discussions. I of course am more of a fan of the twists and turns of the murders and story, especially including the love story between many couples. Othello went through a lot for his wife and as did she. Iago through was a good character to follow. As I read and hearing all the references to "honest Iago" I had a feeling that he wasn't going to play out that way. He ended up being the most untrustworthy and dishonest person thorough out the entire play. I managed to stay caught up in the story and was looking forward to how the play was going to end. I was surprised that Othello killed and tried to hurt so many especially Desdemona. I was pleased that Shakespeare made what seem this play easier to read and follow the plot and charterers. With adding more drama and people to me is much harder to keep track. However I did keep a timeline as I always do to make it easier to reference back in the end. I'd like to see he movie, has anyone seen it?
