It was described as "inspired by” rather than “based of”, it’s...derivative-ish? It has elements of it but it’s also been mentioned it was inspired by Beauty & the Beast (which version, I’m not entirely sure, but I have an inkling) and Labyrinth so yeah. Supposedly, it’s a George Lucas idea inspired by other stuff...as it often is with him. 

IDK what Scrapper Number 143’s sexuality has to do with this discussion, but it’s interesting how you say he rallied for her sexuality for months when he couldn’t be bothered with her name even.

and lmao i think that’s why i’m most bitter. i’ve been smug af the last two years knowing reylo was “never gonna happen” and i didn’t realize that i should have been Way More Scared. i can’t believe how close they got?? and i can’t belieeeeeeeeeeeeeve that out of all the things they could have done, this was the story they decided to tell. even seeing the interviews about how “kylo and rey are two sides of the same coin” (bleghhhhhhhhhh) there was a way to write them as parallel stories and arcs (which would have been bad enough) without making it so romantically coded AND THEY CHOOSE NOT TO DO IT. fuck rian johnson tbh.
