Since @general-yasur made a post asking about Ninjago fanseasons and OCs, I figured this would be a good time to share a sneak peak of plot of the fanseason I've been developing for 9 years and its main character.
Because of how much nonsense Ninjago has to go through every season, Cyrus Borg decides to enlist the help of Unagami and Milton Dyer to help him build a new defense system for Ninjago City to handle threats when the ninja and PIXAL are busy on their other missions. This defense system is a four-armed nindroid named BUDDE (pronounced "buddy") with the ability to take down any of the previous villains the ninja have fought, so he is very capable of handling threats. BUDDE is designed to be very kind to provide a friendly face for those in danger. He is also extremely clever, able to improvise extremely quickly and analyze situations in milliseconds.
BUDDE has another purpose though: create realistic simulations for the ninja to train in that would normally be too dangerous to practice in real life. Unfortunately, the Mechanic finds out about BUDDE and figures out a way to bypass his security checks. He convinces BUDDE that the Mechanic is Cyrus and that the real world IS one of BUDDE's simulations. BUDDE's new mission: provide the ninja with their greatest threat ever as the ultimate training program.
Going through the database of villains, BUDDE is not able to properly weigh the villains against each other because each provides a different kind of challenge. The unfortunate solution that BUDDE comes up with is that a challenge greater than any individual villain is to face EVERY villain (that he is capable of recruiting) together at THE SAME TIME. BUDDE takes on the villainous persona NME (pronounced "enemy") and proceeds to cause mayhem for the ninja.
NME takes advantage of all of NME's abilities, but he is extremely menacing and overly confident in his abilities to the point of destructive behavior. NME is very calculating, rageful, and will send chills down anyone's spine, friend or foe. However, NME isn't an alternate personality. NME is literally just BUDDE method acting as a villain, but he starts to get lost in the role.
Throughout the story, NME is very efficient at collecting the villains while evading the ninja. He eventually obtains (but not in this order) the Skulkin, the Stone Army, the Nindroid Army, Chen and his Anacondrai wannabees, the Ghosts, NADAKHAN and the Sky Pirates, the Time Twins and the Vermillion, the Sons of Garmadon, the Oni, Aspheera and the Pyro Vipers, the Skull Sorcerer and the Awakened Warriors, Clouse, and the Mechanic. Each time the ninja get close to stopping him he causes a more urgent threat that diverts their attention in order to get away and continue his plan.
Setting up his base in the ABANDONNED SAMURAI X CAVE, NME allows all the villains to each have some wishes from Nadakhan to help them become more powerful. However, this backfires on him, with three of the villains defecting to the ninja's side and providing them with their combined 9 wishes to help level the playing field. In order to combat this nightmare of a threat, the ninja now must recruit all of their past allies and redeemed villains in order to stand a fighting chance. This is where the story truly becomes nuts, with an enormous battle, many emotional moments, and even the demise of one of the ninja.
This is all I will say for now (don't want to spoil my story COMPLETELY before I release it). This is my 4th draft of the story, titled Enemies Aligned, and its at a place that I am happy with. I've only written down 1 of the 24 chapters (not posted anywhere yet though), the rest still living in my head desperately trying to escape. Giving every named character something to do and at least one line of dialogue is a nightmare.
I love Ninjago's lore and villains and the main purpose of Enemies Aligned is to see if it was possible to bring back all of the past villains without introducing too much lore and mainly using what was already provided in new ways, and I am happy to say that the answer to that question is a resounding "yes"!
