There's a technicolor hand waving urgently at her. Ah. Enid Sinclair.

Larissa circumnavigates the quad, greeting students as she goes. It's a lovely fall day at Nevermore, and most of them are out enjoying the sunshine and the breeze. A few scramble guiltily, but most answer her hello quite pleasantly, and she basks in the thought that she must be the only principal of any school for miles whose students are happy to see them...

Ah, yes. "Miss Sinclair." There is a strained, urgent look around the young woman's eyes. Larissa frowns slightly, brows drawing together. "Is everything alright?" She's always thought of Enid as energetic, but there's anxiety pouring from her, so thick it's nearly tangible. She puts a hand on Enid's shoulder and takes a wild guess.

she sees her before she hears her. in her third outfit of the day, wednesday can at least commend enid for her creativity in camp attire even if wednesday would rather stab her eyes out with the nearest tree branch than touch a single piece of what her roommate had packed. she turned to the werewolf clad in pinks and purples and stared at her for a beat too long. “ if you consider my mother circling me like a hungry piranha while sweaty prepubescent teenagers run around embracing the wilderness for the first time in their life enjoyable. ” another moment that felt like a lifetime passed as wednesday’s gaze bored into enid. “ interpret that as you will. ”

wednesday abruptly turned on her heels knowing that her ever present friend would be right on her tail as she marched to the furtherest corner of the camp. away from the howling, hissing and hooting of joy. she was here for one reason only but in order to survive until then she had to take steps of self preservation. so she planted herself under the lone willow tree in the park whose foliage draped down like a curtain to block out the rest of the celebratory nevermore students. “ and you ? ” she finally asked now that they had a moment of quiet. her eyes studied enid, searching for any signs of impending death. “ does your pack have anything planned for the full moon tonight ? ”

wednesday  regarded  her  pumpkin  as  if  it  were  a  severed  head  .  it  was  round  and  swollen  ,  helpless  in  its  anticipation  of  her  carving  knife  .  there  was  something  therapeutic  about  slicing  into  something  inviting  yet  stubborn  ;  hallowing  it  out  until  it  could  be  shaped  by  her  own  design  .  gloved  hands  moved  the  cold  blade  with  ritualistic  grace  of  a  surgeon  ;  each  cut  serving  her  geometry  of  despair  .  there  was  no  smile  or  gleaming  triangle  eyes  .  instead  ,  the  features  she  designed  mimicked  a  still  from  one  of  her  favorite  slasher  movies  .

beside  her  ,  her  colorfully  curated  companion  radiated  with  the  energy  of  a  cherub  having  a  sugar  rush  .  sleeves  rolled  up  .  nails  glittered  .  and  the  pumpkin  looked  moments  away  from  imitating  the  delighted  shrill  wednesday  had  heard  from  enid  every  time  she  felt  her  outfit  came  out  just  right  .  her  own  handiwork  paused  .  she  took  a  step  back  to  examine  enid's  as  if  she  were  art  critic  .

the breath she exhaled came out shaky with rage as her fingers dug harder into the edge of her mattress.   enid,   or in this case,   a mirror reflection of herself that seemed like enid had haphazardly painted all over it,   strode into the room and wednesday could almost feel herself break out in hives.    she was certain that the last time she had seen the social media live footage,   enid had donned less colours than she had on at that moment.    wednesday couldn’t even begin to fathom where she found such stomach turning layers of tulle and fur.     “   how long have you been prancing the halls wearing …   that ?   ”   she asked stiffly,   her lips pulled into a thin line of barely contained disdain.   for starters,   everyone knew wednesday was dangerously allergic to colour.   enid must have had a run in with her mother to have avoided the patches that would otherwise erupt across her face.   and secondly,   she didn’t prance.   wednesday addams would rather step on razor blades than prance.   she dreaded the idea of this becoming permanent.

being dumped in switzerland after a particularly heated three weeks of back and forth with his father has felt like being dumped on the other side of the world. it was a miracle he was able to make it back to the states --- unbeknownst to his father, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. augustine and lincoln were more than enough help in the process.

a laugh bubbles up from the back of his throat, ❛ yeah, well --- let's just say reichenbach doesn't have anything on nevermore. ❜ it hasn't been all that bad, if he's being totally honest. he did always keep to himself, after all, but news apparently spreads fast even in another country. vincent thorpe couldn't buy his son out of trouble fast enough, clearly, because the rumors of his falsely accused crimes have already reached the walls of his new school. forced to feel like an outcast in a school full of them.

❛ i'm sorry i missed your birthday, by the way. tried to fly out to san francisco but the old man had me on strict house arrest. i, uh — ended up shipping it here. to auggie. don't know if it arrived before i did. ❜ he'd paid for overnight shipping on it, a painting he'd brought to life on a canvas nearly the size of her, but the shipping company clearly hadn't considered it a priority. a sheepish smile, and then he's scrambling to dig into his pockets, huffing out a victorious ‘ hah! ’ when he finally pulls a golden chain free from his back pocket.
