His footsteps are silent out of habit — Eli doesn’t mean to sneak on the sky boy, but his feet are too accustomed with the forest ground to do anything else. A small part of him feels truly sorry for all the times Murphy almost jumped out his skin and tried to shot Eli after a scare, but a big part of the grounder is too amused to try change his ways — he hopes the sky boy will, eventually, get used to it. That might increase his survival chance and save Eli from losing an eye to the barrel of Murphy’s rifle.
So silently he approaches the other boy and, when he’s close enough, drops a skillfully braided crown of wild flowers on top of the sky boy’s head — Eli quickly steps back and around to face the other with one of his trademark grins.

What’s a negative thing about your character that you enjoy writing?

To be quite honest, I enjoy playing out every negative part of Bellamy. He’s not a good character. But he’s not a bad one either. That’s what I love about him - that he’s very much a gray character. My favorite thing to play out is that he tries to do right, but does wrong during that time. Like when he killed all those grounders - it wasn’t right, but he thought he was doing it for his people. And there is literally nothing he wouldn’t do if it meant helping his people. I love that Bellamy makes mistakes - sometimes really dark, deadly mistakes.
I’m one of those people who didn’t mind his s3 arc. The only problem I had with it is that his change wasn’t shown enough. I would’ve liked to see more of those three months unknown to really see where his mindset was. But I didn’t mind the arc because it’s human for people to move backwards. Yes, during s2, he’d made steps forward. But it’s okay that he’s taken steps backwards now. People are never all good or all bad - and neither is Bellamy. For s4, I’m guessing he’ll make strides forward again.
That was an answer that kind of moved from the original question but, the short answer would be: I like that Bellamy makes mistakes.

honestly i love a good chunk of the murphys i’ve seen. i follow a few of them back, brought over from when i followed them on bellamy, and i think they’re just great. different from mine, of course, bc he’s so complex and i think we’re all bound to read into him differently, but i can think of like 4/5 murphys that i super enjoy seeing when they’re active.
